Paris ER & Emergency Care
The Paris Community Hospital Emergency Room (ER) is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It is located on the east side of the hospital.
The ER staff includes an on-site physician, registered nurses, and emergency room technicians who are either LPNs or paramedics. The emergency room staff is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support.
A physician serves as medical director to oversee the department and supervise the emergency room physicians, a registered nurse serves as the Critical Care Manager supervising the ER nurses and technicians, and a registered nurse serves as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Coordinator who serves as a liaison between the hospital and our local ambulance service.
Beginning in September 2010, Paris Community Hospital implemented an ER/Hospitalist Program, which is staffed with ER Physicians/Hospitalists. These physicians not only provide emergency care to patients, but also are available to care for patients who are admitted to the hospital following their emergency department visit.
